TheBodyNeeds

A while back I ordered some MAC samples from thebodyneeds2.com, and they asked me if I wanted to try some of their shadows too.
I got to pick 4 shadows from them, I picked three shades from their Blackened -collection, and one lighter shade.

The colors I got were: (L to R) Blackened Emerald, Blackened Turquoise, Blackened Violet, Juniper and Pixie Dust:

The blackened colors are pure awesomeness!

Blackened Violet:
Oh, PUPRLE! <3 I have a thing for purples, I know :3
This is just superpretty, dark, but when light hits it, it really stunning!
Blackened Violet in inner and outer corner, Sugarpill Hysteric in the middle of the lid.

Blackened Emerald:
Once upon a time I searched for the perfect green (I'm still searching for the perfect red!), and thought that Pure Luxe's Pandora was the One. I've since accepted that there can be many perfect colors, but this is damn near perfection!

Blackened Emerald in both inner and outer corners, and Sugarpill Absinthe in the middle of the lid. MAC Undercurrent as a liner.

Blackened Turquoise:

Even though I love the purple and green, this is my favorite. This is pure awesomeness beyond all words.
I LOVE IT.

Blackened Turquoise in both inner and outer corners, Fyrinnae Sleepy Hollow in the middle of the lid, TBN Pixie Dust in the very inner corner.

Pixie Dust:

This is a really nice, gold-toned glitter. Can't be really used as a highlighter by itself, but it works really well over highlighters and darker shadows.

Juniper
This was my surprise color, rich turquoise with green/gold undertones. This looks really similar to Pure Luxe's Toy Boy, which is re-packed TKB mica, but the texture isn't quite the same, and this one is maybe a bit lighter than Toy Boy.

And last my MAC samples...
They weren't so special :S I don't know what I was expecting from MAC, but these were boring:

PS, still few days to enter my Illamasqua contest, if you haven't already!

Tutorial: Jangsarasque

I know you want to know how to do this!

Luckily I did a tutorial ;D

Products used:
  • Sugarpill Tako
  • Sugarpill Afterparty
  • Sugarpill Bulletproof
  • Sugarpill Dollypop
  • Sugarpill Poison Plum

Start with priming your eye with your favorite primer (never mind my lashes, I have some individual lashes from my previous look):

Then apply white base for the whole lid (NYX jumbo pencil Milk is what I used):

Take black pencil and draw a line starting from outer corner, going up like in the picture:

Do another line on lower lashline with black pencil:

Continue the upperline from the outer corner, and extend it all the way to upper lashline, so you'll get the black liner:

Like this.

(I extended the line in lower inner corner at this point too )Then apply some white to inner corner , as well as to the line-thingie you draw to the lower outer part:

Then take a small brush (mine is Make Up Store's 204), and apply Sugarpill Afterparty where the picture shows. At this point also darken the black pencil areas with Sugarpill Bulletproof:

Like this:

Then lots'n'lots of white, in my case Tako. To the highlight:
..Lid:

...And other parts that have white base:

So there:

Apply some more Afterparty, blend it with Tako:

.. and still a bit more Afterarty blended with Tako:

Then some Sugarpill Poison Plum (use primer here too. I didn't and it shows.):

Same thing with just under the brow. Blend with a hint of Dollypop and Tako:

So here's the look. I still thought something was missing...

So I added Illamasqua Debonair pencil to waterline, and Ardell false lashes. And darkened my brow to match the look:
 Tadah!

Heat of the moment (and giveaway winner)

Say hello to my new babies!

I got myself three new MAC shadows, to my surprise they were all from MAC's Cool Heat -collection (2008).
I already owned Warm Chill, and now I got Solar White, Gulf Stream and Cool Heat:

Solar White
Frosty muted white-gold (frost)
Solar White is beautiful highlighter shade for me, it's warm light white gold with a hint of pink/peach shade:
It's almost like MAC Cloudbound and MAC Vanilla pigment made a baby:

Cool Heat
Frosty teal with multi-dimensional pearlized pigments (Frost)
Cool Heat isn't exactly blue, nor it's green. "Frosty teal with multi-dimensional pearlized pigments" says the description, but I wouldn't call it teal either. It's really awesome color, and I've been drooling for this quite a while.

I guess these were the closest "dupes" I own:

Gulf Stream
Frosty mid-tone blue-green with green pearlized pigments (frost)
This was somehow lighter than I expected, I assumed this to be more striking, but this seems to be good pair to Warm Chill, which is also a bit "dull" color.
But this isn't exactly green either, it has quite a lot of blueish in it too.
Closest "dupes" I could think of were Sugarpill Midori (they look quite the same in the pot) and UD Flipside (which also looks a bit same in the pot, except much more shinier ):

Here's swatches of them all:

And here's some looks I made with them lately:

Solar White & Gulf Stream:

..and my new awesome hat <3
I also made a tutorial of this look to MakeupGeek:
